SULAIMANI — Iran’s customs directorate said on Saturday (June 27) that 73 percent of the country’s exports went to five countries during the three-month period starting in March, with Iraq ranking second.

The directorate said in a statement that the country exported goods and supplies to China, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and Afghanistan worth $10.7 billion.

China topped the list with $3.1 billion in goods, Iraq received more than $2.3 billion, and the UAE got $1.3 billion.

Iran exported an additional $2 billion worth of goods to other countries beyond the top five during March, April, and May, despite heavy sanctions imposed by the US.
