SULAIMANI — At least four people were killed and thirteen others were injured in a traffic accident on the Khanaqin-Saadiya road in Diyala governorate early on Saturday (June 26).
NRT reporter Garmian Hama Pur said that the accident occurred near the Kobashi checkpoint when a bus carrying 30 passengers, who were on their way to visit religious sites in Karbala and Najaf, collided with another vehicle.
He said that the victims were taken to two nearby hospitals for treatment, including Jalawla Hospital and Khanaqin Hospital.
An official from Khanaqin Hospital confirmed to NRT the death and injury toll from the victims brought to that facility, adding that most of the injuries were severe.
NRT could not immediately confirm how many dead and injured were taken to the other hospital.
