SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday (June 30) it officially recorded 723 new cases of coronavirus infection over the past 24 hours.
There were 286 new cases in Duhok governorate, 241 in Sulaimani, 164 in Erbil, and 32 in Garmian administration.
On October 27, the Region recorded its highest single-day total with 1,597 infections.
The ministry also said six patients had died from the disease, while 549 others recovered.
According to the health ministry, there have been 185,716 officially-recorded cases of coronavirus infection in the Kurdistan Region. An official tally of 173,690 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and 4,477 have died from it.
The numbers are almost certainly an undercount.
