SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Health announced on Monday (June 28) it officially recorded 761 new cases of coronavirus infection over the past 24 hours.
There were 338 new cases in Duhok governorate, 233 in Sulaimani, 149 in Erbil, and 41 in Garmian administration.
On October 27, the Region recorded its highest single-day total with 1,597 infections.
The ministry also said seven patients had died from the disease, while 562 others recovered.
According to the health ministry, there have been 184,341 officially-recorded cases of coronavirus infection in the Kurdistan Region. An official tally of 172,569 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and 4,465 have died from it.
The numbers are almost certainly an undercount.
